FL mobile home and gardens

Image
We have a piece of land, about 1.25 acres in Florida. It's about a 45min-1 hr drive to the atlantic beaches. What I'd like to do with this land, is make a tiny home on it. However, Florida regulations require us to have the home be a minimum size, which is much bigger than what I'd want here. I think it's because this is a rural neighborhood where people build huge mansions and a tiny home would appear out-of-place among all the other big houses in the area. I would probably just buy the cheapest, minimum-sized mobile home to plop on this land, and try to make the best out of the remaining land space to plant trees and crops. There's nothing we'd like better than to have a place where we can live without having to worry about buying all of our food. I'd plant coconut, banana trees, and other things. It'll probably take a lot of research and trial-by-error on my part to figure out what can and can't successfully grow there, but the point is

TX Plateau off-grid home

Image
We have a piece of land on a higher elevation plateau almost ten acres large. It gets so hot, that I almost passed out walking around the perimeter of it. One time, we camped out there in a tent and noticed that it gets windy up there. When it storms, you feel like you can easily get hit by lightning, since it is that much closer to the sky and completely flat. However, on a clear night the stars are that much brighter. Since this is an off-grid site, we wouldn't be able to get running water out there and wouldn't have electric and gas connectivity.           What we want to build for a home out here, is what looks like a cabin that you can go to for camping above ground, but below ground, we'd like to have a huge underground dooms-day bunker for storage and emergency supplies. We really need a place where we can securely store items without the possibility of anyone breaking in and stealing anything, and it would also be a safe place to stay in case of a major n

Ideal Gym Room - Side 4

For the fourth side of my ideal gym, I'd like to add more circus equipment to hang down from the ceiling. this would include the silks. These, unlike the rope, would have to hang down long enough to at least touch the floor. One day, I plan on taking silk lessons, but it is just so expensive that the only way it would be worth it for me, is if I can go back home and continue practicing every day. For me, practice makes perfect, so the silks are an absolute MUST in my home. Before I went to college to study Biology, I wanted to go to the Circus school in Montreal, Canada to get a circus education and be a part of cirque de soleil shows and tours. At the time, I didn't have the support to even visit the school in Canada, so my plans had to change, but that doesn't mean I don't still have passion for learning what could become one of my favorite hobbies. If I'm going to have silks, then I must also add a hoop, Learning how to do these aerial arts would just be th

For the third "side" of the room, I'd like to have more of a gymnastics feel to it. I'd like a long trampoline with a foam pit at the end, a gymnastics bar, and some parallel bars, I definitely could use some practice on the balance beam, but I hate it so much, it doesn't need to be part of my own house. I also love the vault, but I also think it's unnecessary, because I would rather practice new skills on various bars.

This idea is extra, because I wouldn't consider it necessary if it goes over my "budget." But on the 2nd side of the wall, I'd like a rock climbing wall, similar to the one at my college which protrudes further out as you go up, or has a 90 degree angle in it. I felt so proud to be one of the only few people to reach the top at my college rock wall. It would be great to be able to use this wall for not just rock climbing, but also to practice various ways of rappelling, and to practice using a harness, rope tying, and belaying with a partner.

Ideal Gym Room- Side 1

I have awesome ideas for how I would want the biggest room in my house to be built. I want it to be my workout room and office space at the same time. It draws from various types of workout activities such as a regular gym, cross fit, cirque du soleil, and gymnastics. Here, I drew my rough draft rendition of what one side of the wall might look like.           So what the picture does not portray, is just how big I want the room to be, but you can get the idea that there will be tons of stuff hanging down from the ceiling. Therefore the ceiling must be absolutely sturdy and durable enough to handle someone from any weight class on the equipment. The entire wall would be made up of mirrors, similar to a professional dance room, where you can see yourself while you workout. The purpose of the mirror wall would be either for dance, or while working out to Shaun T's insanity program on the TV. There would be surround sound for the best sound and music experience in the house. I'

Introduction: My purpose on Blogger

As I watch HGTV on my cable television, I can't help but think about how I'd want my house to be if I ever chose to finally settle down into one permanent house to live happily ever after. But whenever I google search "custom houses," all that comes up are houses that are pre-made from the imagination of someone else. I envision one day having the option to tell a construction crew exactly how I want my own house to be built, which includes equipment and furniture installations, color, themes, etc. When I watch programs like house flippers or the two brothers that renovate houses, I personally think to myself that I wouldn't want others making all those decisions for me. Besides, I don't like all the unnecessary fixtures on the walls, area rugs, etc. that they always seem to spend your budget on. I'm a very idealistic, but practical person.          Given that I'm always entering PCH.com sweepstakes, I have high hopes of one day winning a mi
