Ideal Gym Room- Side 1

I have awesome ideas for how I would want the biggest room in my house to be built. I want it to be my workout room and office space at the same time. It draws from various types of workout activities such as a regular gym, cross fit, cirque du soleil, and gymnastics. Here, I drew my rough draft rendition of what one side of the wall might look like.
So what the picture does not portray, is just how big I want the room to be, but you can get the idea that there will be tons of stuff hanging down from the ceiling. Therefore the ceiling must be absolutely sturdy and durable enough to handle someone from any weight class on the equipment. The entire wall would be made up of mirrors, similar to a professional dance room, where you can see yourself while you workout. The purpose of the mirror wall would be either for dance, or while working out to Shaun T's insanity program on the TV. There would be surround sound for the best sound and music experience in the house. I'd like to have a 55"+ sized TV right in the middle of the mirror wall, not a theater sized TV.
You can see on the right side, that I'd like to have a stationary workout bike with a desk attached where I can use my laptop at the same time. I spend anywhere from 3-6 hours per day just entering all of the sweepstakes on my laptop and cellphone and I can't do that if I'm at the gym. I also think it would be ideal to be able to work out the entire time I'm using the computer so that I'm losing weight instead of gaining weight.
On the left, I'd want a pole, which extends through the ceiling up to the ceiling of the room above. The idea of this is to have a dual purpose: to do pole exercises in the gym, and to have something similar to what firefighters have where you can just easily slide downstairs from the top floor without having to take the stairs. I personally would also use the pole to go up a floor level as well, just for fun. The room above the gym which has the pole hole in the floor would most likely just be a storage room where we can put our extra stuff out of the way.
Towards the right, I also added a rope from the ceiling, which I would climb to practice for the next spartan race I go to and also just for athletic purposes. The ceiling needs to be high enough, but not so high, that climbing up the pole becomes ridiculous. Of course, I will NOT have a staircase in my house. Haha, just kidding, I would have a staircase just for those who are not inclined to climb.

  1. As I was looking at this, I thought of the idea of possibly having that wall just being a huge theater- sized TV or painting. In that case, I would just put up a picture of a mountain cliff while I climb the rope, just to make it feel more authentic. It would be pretty cool to feel like you're really climbing up a rope to save yourself from falling off a cliff, haha.
